Prensa Real Cabernet-Sauvignon Merlot
2018
About this winery
Vivanco Winery is located in Briones, a privileged enclave in La Rioja Alta, on the foothills of the Sierra de Cantabria and on the banks of the River Ebro. It is an area with a mild microclimate and extraordinary chalky-clay soils. Around the winery we find the Finca El Cantillo, whose name comes from the large number of boulders found on the ground. Tempranillo is the fundamental variety, but not the only one. In this vineyard we can also find other grape varieties that we use in our wines:...

Product notes
In the Middle Ages, peasants paid tributes to the king with the grapes from their vineyards, which were pressed and fermented in the Royal winepresses (Prensa Real in Spanish). This wine is an homage to those small grape growers whose achievements were fundamental in the development of our country’s wine culture.
Production notes
The Prensa Real vineyards are located in the eastern part of the Castilian plateau between the old Júcar and Cabriel valleys. Traditional goblet training and altitudes ranging from 600 to 1,100 metres above sea level, humid Mediterranean winds alternating with a continental climate result in leisurely, gradual ripening, leading to wines of outstanding personality and freshness.
Tasting notes
This wine stands out for its varietal aromas showing peppery notes combined with some nuances of wild berries and spices, with a fresh and appetizing taste. An attractive daily drinking wine ideal with tapas and Mediterranean dishes such as pasta, pizza, rice, vegetables, all sorts of meats, etc.
