2016 PENFOLDS Bin 138 - Nick Stock, JamesSuckling.com, November 29, 2018 “An early, warm vintage has delivered a rich and densely structured Bin 138. Grenache still makes a stellar appearance, amid a wealth of shiraz, as raspberries and blackberries intertwine with a spicy wrap of clove, cinnamon and dried-plum aromas. The palate is more blackberry with a smoky, dark-plum and licorice edge. Long and silky. Rich flavors pervade the long, lightly roasted coffee finish. A blend of 72 per cent shiraz, 16 per cent grenache and 12 per cent mataro. Drink now or hold.”
