Ripe and plummy on the nose, sweet spice. The palate is full, rich and plush, with some sweet wood caramel and loads of black fruit. Tannins are moderate and firm, but polished. Friendly. Today it is a multi-regional blend which includes sites in the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Padthaway, Upper Adelaide, and Wrattonbully. This excellent warm-climate Shiraz takes on a toasty oak character on the nose, followed by black tea, blackberry pie and coffee grounds all taking shape. The mouthfeel is plush as the wine shows nice citrus tones that accompany copious dark fruits and coffee grounds which all build up to the finish. This is delicious now, but should continue to evolve nicely with additional bottle age.”
