The 2000 Colheita Tawny Port, bottled in November 2015, is a roughly equal blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca, with 100.2 grams per liter of residual sugar. Suave, elegant and perfectly balanced, this has a sweet edge and finishes with waves of fruit and sugar mingling nicely. It is balanced by some freshness as well. Neither the most complex nor concentrated Tawny in terms of mid-palate depth--it is rather young, relatively speaking--this nonetheless shows reasonable concentration of flavors for its age and nice aromatics. Its lushness is nicely balanced by its structure. It lingers nicely on the finish, too, and that finish is quite delicious. This is very pretty and rather sexy. If you like them on the fresher and younger side, this is a great choice at an affordable price.
