About this winery

Four generations for this Châteauneuf-du-Pape house rooted in the heart of the Rhône Valley for more than 70 years. Production notes

This delicate and pleasing wine shows in historical records as early as the 16th century. SaintJoseph (allegedly the protector of scorned husbands) was once lauded by the kings of France as well as Victor Hugo, who mentioned it in ‘Les Misérables’. Between the years of 1956 and 1969, all of the vineyards between Chavanay (30km south of Lyon) and Guilherand (north of Valence) were regrouped into the AOC StJoseph. The majority of the vines are planted on steep slopes. The soil is composed of schist and gneiss on a granite base. The climate is hot and dry in summer and rainy during the other seasons.

Tasting notes

Expressive, classically elegant tannins appear with notes of raspberry and cassis. Beautifully mouth-filling with a spicy finish.
