Beaulieu Vineyards
Georges De Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
2021
About this winery
In 1900, when Georges de Latour's wife, Fernande, first laid eyes on the land that would become their original Rutherford vineyard, she named it "beau lieu," or "beautiful place." Shortly thereafter, de Latour sold his thriving cream of tartar business, bought the four-acre ranch and founded Beaulieu Vineyard with the vision of making Napa Valley wines that would rival those of his native France.

Product notes
Completes a quartet of exceptional vintages. A remarkably consistent growing season allowed for amazing concentration of dark fruits, beautiful aromatics, and lifted acidity.
Production notes
After early rains, the season yielded exceptional fruit. Early budbreak and even summer ripening produced intensely flavored, small berries. Harvest began late August, creating wines with remarkable color, aroma, and balance that beautifully express the valley’s terroir.
Tasting notes
A stellar vintage, offering an intense bouquet of wild sage, blackcurrant, and cedar. The full-bodied palate reveals layers of ripe blackberry, red currant, and graphite, complemented by sandalwood and clove. Silky Rutherford Dust tannins provide elegant balance and a cocoa-like finish.
