About this winery

Castel Frères is the historic wine trading business created by Pierre Castel with his brothers and sisters in 1949. Over time, we have created a comprehensive range including not only brand leaders and successful innovations, but also châteaux wineries and grand cru wines. Third largest in the world market, Castel Frères is today "the most important place for French wine in the world" for professionals and consumers worldwide.

Product notes

Maison Castel's oenologists select exceptional qualities from their long-standing partners in the Haut-Médoc terroirs. The different terroirs are vinified separately in order to optimize the expression of each one, and the extractions are adapted to the vintage. Then, a long vatting period of 3 to 4 weeks and aging in oak barrels aim to enhance the fruit and bring roundness.

Production notes

The Médoc AOC is part of the greater Bordeaux wine region. An AOC for red grape varieties, its predominantly gravelly soil allows its flagship grape variety, Cabernet Sauvignon, to reach optimal maturity, giving its wines body, structure, and length on the palate.

Tasting notes

Intense and complex aromas with notes of red fruit and spices. A wine with both beautiful substance and volume on the palate, as well as fine, silky tannins on the finish.
