About this winery
The village lies at the end of the Laignes valley, on the edge of the Côte des Bar, between Champagne and Burgundy. It's a land of hillsides, emerging from the Jurassic period, that for centuries men have patiently shaped for the vine. Its history and its name are plural, and its reputation singular: Les Riceys. Product notes
Development of biodiversity by planting orchards, truffle oaks and honey plants, and by mowing grassy areas late in the year to respect pollination times, restoration of local heritage structures (small stone huts known as cadoles).
Production notes
Pinot Noir from a mass selection carried out by the estate, planted in 1974, single Guyot pruning (8 buds instead of 10), yield 40% lower than the average in Champagne.
Tasting notes
Fresh and complex, with cherry and wild berry aromas, light notes of fresh almonds and white pepper. Intense and vigorous, with an attack of redcurrant. Tart finish supported by a raspberry aroma and prolonged by violets.
